The bold colors used in this classic, book cover redesign bring the novel to current time.  The texture of the waves exude the essence of water.  The size of the massive creature is well understood in comparison to the submarine.  The submarine is shown to be trapped or surrounded by danger.  The title of the book hangs down from the creature to form a medal.  This represent the hunter's ultimate goal of a successful capture.
